About R. T. Lund . . .

I grew up in Duluth, Minnesota, the gateway to the North Shore of Lake Superior. When I was twelve, three teenage brothers from my neighborhood were swept off a concrete pier and into the lake during a raging Spring gale. None of them was ever recovered. There began my fascination with the awesome, unforgiving lake.

I have labored as a lawyer and a corporate CEO but have finally, happily found my voice as a Minnesota mystery writer, and the big lake plays a role in each of my stories. Minnesota may be the Land of 10,000 Lakes, but the coldest, deepest, darkest, most foreboding lake is home to more bodies, shipwrecks and secrets than all the rest combined.

With a background in literature and law, I combine the backdrop of my beloved Minnesota with flawed characters and unexpected turns that I hope will keep readers engaged. My second book, “A Climate for Death,” was the winner of the 2021 Next Generation Indie Book Award in the Thriller category, and I am pleased to report that the first installment of my Lake Superior Trilogy, “Who Are You?” is one of two finalists in the Political Thriller category at the 17th annual National Indie Excellence Awards.

I live in the Twin Cities with my wife, Ann, and golden doodle, Charley, but visit the North Shore of Lake Superior whenever I can.
